I am pursuing an MPS in Environmental and Forest Chemistry at SUNY ESF.

I graduated with a Bachelors in Biological Sciences at Connecticut College, where most of my focus was on the study of lichen biology, and their interactions with the

environment. Since then, my time has been pulled between local oyster conservation efforts in NYC, and tutoring students in underprivileged communities.

Since coming to ESF with the intent of researching some of my original academic foci, I’ve focused on expanding my knowledge of local fungi and their relationships with forest ecosystems, specifically focusing on how fungal biodiversity can impact soil quality and overall forest health. Very often, I’m met with scientists who keep a wide berth from fungus, simply because of a lack of fundamental understanding, and it is my wish to try and bring new knowledge, and new ties to existing knowledge, that could help change this perception.
